Callisto

from 189€/night

Callisto is the most cratered moon in the solar system, which is proof of a past full of collisions. It is considered to be the most welcoming place for a human base camp in a potential future exploration of the Jovian system.

According to mythology, Callisto gets its name from a hunting woman with whom Jupiter fell in love. When she became pregnant, Jupiter transformed her into a bear in order to protect her. When she died, struck by an arrow, Jupiter immortalized her as the constellation Ursa Major.

Europa

from 189€/night

Europa is the icy moon of Jupiter. Under its crust of transparent ice, lies a vast ocean of liquid water twice the size of all the oceans of the Earth put together.

It gets its name from one of Jupiter’s mistresses. According to mythology, when Jupiter first saw her, he was so amazed by her beauty that, in order to be near her, he transformed himself into a handsome white bull with horns like the crescent moon.

Ganymede

from 189€/night

Ganymede is Jupiter’s largest natural satellite, and is also the largest natural satellite in the Solar System. It has its own magnetic field and is, indeed, the only satellite in the Solar system of its kind.

Its name refers to a handsome young man named Ganymede, who, according to Greek mythology, travelled to Olympus on the back of an eagle sent by Jupiter. Jupiter, enamoured of the newcomer’s beauty, chose him to be a cupbearer to the gods.
Later, Jupiter sent Ganymede to the heavens as the constellation Aquarius.

Io

from 189€/night

With over 400 active volcanoes, Io is the most geologically active body in the solar system. This satellite of Jupiter has such an intense volcanic activity that the signs of craters from past impacts on its surface have been completely deleted.

Its name originates from a maiden lover of Jupiter. According to mythology, Io crossed half the world, in the form of a beautiful white veal to Egypt, where she encountered her son and became a woman again.
